Sally Thompson qualified as a solicitor in 1991. After working for various firms, including at Winstanley Burgess Solicitors, she went on to co-found Luqmani Thompson & Partners in 1998.
Sally is renowned for her sympathetic and thorough approach in cases of the utmost sensitivity. Her ability to manage vulnerable and difficult clients is unmatched, but does not detract from her steely determination to address the vital legal issues. She is particularly well regarded for her pioneering work in the establishment of best practice in dealing with unaccompanied minors and victims of trafficking as well as establishing best management standards within the practice.
Sally is the touchstone of the firm and driving force behind our ongoing development. She is also responsible for steering the development of trainee solicitors, with firm committed to the development of good practice in the field. In addition, she is one of a handful of managing partners to have secured an MBA in Legal Practice. She remains totally focused on client needs tailoring the firm's practices to ensure that those needs are met and that clients are provided with individual pragmatic legal solutions of the highest standard.
Sally spearheaded the efforts by the firm to achieve the highly prized Lexcel V accreditation within a record time of 12 months ensuring that the firm has a solid future in an ever changing legal environment and has been authorised by the SRA as the firm's first Compliance Officer for Legal Practice from 1 January 2013.
As a long-standing member of the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association serving on ILPA's training subcommittee Sally can quickly identify the training needs of immigration law practitioners and establish ways in which these can be met.
Although a modest practitioner, Sally's exceptional results mark her out as a force to be reckoned with.
