I am attorney Laura Thompson. I was born and raised in Statesboro, Georgia. While living in Statesboro, I began working in the legal field and knew that was the path I wanted for myself. I went to law school at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. I started working for Margrett Skinner after my first year of law school. It was then that I realized that I had a passion for family law and I have remained with this firm ever since.
When it comes to being an attorney, I take your matters as seriously as I do my own. I try my best to understand exactly what you are going through no matter whether it is a divorce, custody battle, adoption, a modification action, or any predicament that you need legal assistance with. Every situation is different and I feel that it is important for attorneys to build a real relationship with their clients in order to best handle each and every case. That is my goal. I will strive to be readily available to you during the day through my office. After hours, I have my email set up on my personal phone for emergencies so that you are never unable to get ahold of me in some fashion.
My main areas of practice are adoptions, divorces, and family law. I also handle wills and estates and DUI cases. If you need legal counsel and need assistance with fees, I am willing to do a payment schedule. These schedules can be weekly or monthly depending on the case.
