Associate Christine Tamer is the newest addition to Baron & Budd’s asbestos litigation group. Tamer, a 2011 graduate from the University of Texas School of Law, joined Baron & Budd following a summer clerkship with the firm. During her term as a summer associate, Tamer helped draft a brief to the California Court of Appeals. Thanks to Tamer’s work, Baron & Budd attorneys won the appeal and the case was ordered back to the lower court.

While completing her law degree, Tamer gained knowledge in criminal defense while representing indigent clients in the Austin municipal court. It was her first time working with clients who needed help, which reinforced her desire to better the lives of plaintiffs. Tamer also spent her time in law school serving as a research assistant on constitutional race issues. She subsequently authored an article for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights calling on institutions of higher education to recognize Arab-Americans as a minority group for affirmative action programs. She argued that if affirmative-action programs exist, Arab-Americans deserve to be recognized as a minority race in America.

After joining the firm, Tamer has worked alongside Baron & Budd attorneys to help the firm win an $8.4 million verdict for the widow of a mesothelioma patient.
