Gary Tabakman is an associate at Bires Schaffer & DeBorde. He is a long time Houstonian and attended the University of Houston, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree and several academic awards for his studies in Architecture and Political Science. Mr. Tabakman joined the firm, then known as Bires & Schaffer, as a law clerk right after college. Before beginning law school, Mr. Tabakman attained valuable knowledge in case preparation, investigation and trial techniques. After several years of experience, he attended South Texas College of Law where he went on to receive his Juris Doctorate. Mr. Tabakman excelled in law school while continuing to work with the firm. He was given high passes in his Voir Dire and Jury Communication, Criminal Law Trial Advocacy, Family Law Trial Advocacy, and Deposition Skills classes. After law school, Mr. Tabakman was offered a full time position with Bires Schaffer & DeBorde.
Mr. Tabakman’s family immigrated to the United States in 1991 from Russia, and he is a fluent Russian speaker. He has long aspired to represent people who deserve to have knowledgeable and thorough representation. Mr. Tabakman believes that a confident and zealous advocate is a client's best defense.
