Thea Keane, formerly known as Thea Host, graduated from Marquette University in 1976. Thereafter, she received a fellowship to do law reform first in the State of Utah and thereafter in the State of Colorado. She was admitted to the Bar in both States. While in Colorado she married Kevin Keane, who is also her current law partner. Ms. Keane's work now is in the family law area. She has developed a successful divorce practice and has also been active as a Guardian ad Litem, in adoption cases, paternity cases, etc. In divorces where children are involved, Attorney Keane believes that even though parties get divorced they are still, in a very real sense, a family. When children are involved the parties will have to deal with each other until well after their children's eighteenth birthday. She often tells her clients that at the end of the divorce she will do everything she can to make sure that the parties can dance with each other at their children's wedding.
Since early in her career in Wisconsin she has been involved in the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Waukesha Bar Association and has maintained a membership in the Milwaukee Bar Association. She and her husband have practiced together since 1985 and have successfully raised four children who are now all adults. Family values are important to both Attorney Keane and her husband. Ms. Keane, herself, was divorced after a short marriage before she entered law school. One child was born during that marriage and she and her son's father from that marriage have been able to work together successfully in making decisions jointly that have been in their son's best interest. Their son is very much a member of both blended families who are very proud of him and his achievements.
In 1998 Attorney Keane took her husband's name as a Christmas present to him.
