Strauss, Jeffrey T.

Lawrence M. Karlin concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction litigation and trial and appellate practice, representing contractors, developers, lenders, owners and borrowers.  Mr. Karlin also has extensive experience in landlord-tenant law, prosecuting residential evictions in volume as well as representing parties in complex disputes under commercial leases.  Mr. Karlin recieved his Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law.  He has been admitted to the Illinois Bar, U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Illinois including that court's Trial Bar.

Mr. Karlin has prosecuted and defended numerous civil appeals. He successfully represented a lender in a recent case resolving complex issues related to lender liability under the Illinois Interest Act hailed as a landmark decision by the lending community.  RBS Citizens Nat'l Ass'n v. RTG-Oak Lawn, LLC, 407 Ill. App. 3d 183 (1st Dist. 2011).

Mr. Karlin co-authored "Offense in Mortgage Foreclosures" Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Real Estate Litigation (1994). Mr. Karlin is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award.  Mr. Karlin prepared all course materials and was the featured speaker at the 2006 National Business Institute workshop on "Commercial Evictions and How to Avoid Them."
