Steinke, Mark E

Attorney Charlie Steele is the senior attorney in the Firm.  He earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from The Ohio State University, a Masters Degree in Human Growth and Development from Kent State University, a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh and a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law.

Charlie has substantial experience in employment law, both for employers and employees.  For employers, he has negotiated collective bargaining agreements, prosecuted grievances, and defended discrimination lawsuits.  For employees, he has filed EEOC and PHRC complaints and prosecuted discrimination, whistleblower and wrongful discharge suits.

Charlie is also an experienced education lawyer, having represented numerous school districts as Solicitor, Labor Counsel and Special Education Counsel.  Charlie also represents individuals who file claims against school districts for personal injury, discrimination, special education due process issues, contract and civil rights claims.

As a civil litigator, Charlie has substantial experience successfully prosecuting personal injury and employment cases in state court.  He maintains a substantial federal court practice that involves numerous civil rights claims as well as business disputes.

Charlie also renders business advice to companies having disputes with vendors and customers.  He has incorporated businesses and assisted in the resolution of business disputes so as to avoid costly litigation

Charlie maintains a family law practice that focuses on collaborative dissolution of a marriage.  He is a member of CLASP, a group of lawyers that assist married parties in amicably resolving their differences while remaining effective parents. He also assists couples who desire to rationally end their marriage via fair, open and honest negotiation.

Charlie is married to Christine Steele and is the father of four grown children.  He is an avid boater, nonfiction reader, and Adjunct Professor at Penn State University where he teaches employment law and organizational leadership courses.
