Kenneth R. Stein was born in Romulus , New York on October 10, 1953 . He was admitted to the Bar of the State of Texas in 1976 and was subsequently admitted to the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and also to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Stein was educated at the University of Texas , receiving a B.A. in 1975 and a J.D. with honors in 1976. At the University of Texas Law School, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi, served as a Note and Comment Editor of the Texas International Law Journal during 1975-1976, and also was a Teaching Quizmaster (Instructor in Legal Research and Writing) during 1975-1976. He is the author of a casenote titled Saxbe v. Bustos published in Volume 10 of the Texas International Law Journal in 1976. Mr. Stein's presentations include: Speaker, Discovery Privileges, Western District Claims office, Ryder Truck Rental seminar ( Denver , 1996); Speaker, Mediation, Texas Independent Insurance Adjusters' Association seminar ( Dallas , 1999); Speaker, Construction Defect Litigation, Union Standard Insurance Companies (2006). Mr. Stein has been an instructor at Southern Methodist University Law School. Mr. Stein is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.
