Tom maintains a diverse civil litigation practice, representing his clients in a variety of litigation issues, including construction, real estate and commercial litigation, as well as legal malpractice claims. He is trained and qualified as a mediator, and has received an "AV" rating by Martindale Hubble's peer review rating system – the highest rating available. The designation recognizes Tom for high ethical standards and "very high to preeminent legal abilities."
Tom was born in Dallas, Texas in 1969. At Texas A&M University, Tom was a member of the Corps of Cadets and received the Distinguished Student Award four times. He was also a member of the Ross Volunteer Company, the official honor guard for the Governor of Texas and the oldest student organization in Texas. Tom received his B.B.A. in Management and Marketing in 1992, and entered law school at Southern Methodist University, where he became a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity and an Editor for The International Lawyer law review. Before receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1995, Tom authored an international business article The United States and Vietnam: Overcoming the Past and Investing in the Future, which was published in the Winter 1995 edition of The International Lawyer. Tom has been asked to speak and write for various industry groups and trade organizations, and his articles have published in Texas Homebuilder Magazine.
Tom was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in November 1995, and is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Tom is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Despite his busy professional life, Tom's true passion is for his family, friends and faith. Tom and his wife, Susan, are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Lauren, Ben and Owen, and attend Chase Oaks Church in Plano.
