Kalyn Johnson specializes in the area of environmental law, focusing primarily on environmental counseling and transactions. Kalyn is experienced in analyzing the risks associated with environmental liabilities in various types of corporate and real estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, lending, and restructuring transactions. She has represented clients in diverse industries from retail and manufacturing to pipelines. She has been responsible for hiring and managing environmental consultants, identifying and evaluating potential environmental costs, negotiating contract terms, and procuring environmental insurance. Kalyn is well versed in state environmental property transfer laws and recently authored an environmental development article on the issue, focusing on New Jersey's Industrial Site Recovery Act.

In addition, Kalyn has represented clients conducting remediation under a variety of environmental statutes, including CERCLA and RCRA. She has assisted in drafting environmental impact statements under NEPA and New York's SEQR. She has advised clients on compliance issues and has assessed risks under a variety of statutes and regulations, including the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act, state and federal underground storage tank laws and regulations, brownfields legislation, state voluntary cleanup programs, and New York's Department of Environmental Conservation Rules and Regulations.

Kalyn recently published, as coauthor, articles on New Jersey's Industrial Site Recovery Act, brownfields revitalization, and the Clean Air Act. In addition, Kalyn is an editorial board member of the Environmental Liability, Enforcement & Penalties Reporter. She spoke at the August 2004 National Bar Association meeting.

Kalyn is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the Environmental Law Institute.
