Spivack, Gary I.

Christopher D. Johnson is a founding shareholder of the firm. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1993 with a major in economics. Chris graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1989.

Chris has been named a Rising Star in the legal community by Law & Politics Magazine, Mpls./St. Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business Monthly and is a former president of the 19th District of the Minnesota State Bar Association, is a former president of the Forest Lake Rotary Club, is currently a board member of the Forest Lake Chamber of Commerce and has volunteered as a coach of the Forest Lake High School Mock Trial Team.

Chris currently practices in the areas of litigation, real estate, business and family law.

Within his real estate practice, Chris has represented both municipalities and individuals in eminent domain/condemnation actions, assessment disputes, property line disputes, evictions, foreclosures and negotiating and enforcing the purchase and sale of property.

In business law, Chris has helped clients form business entities and has represented clients in shareholder disputes, corporate dissolutions and business sales.

Within his family law practice, Chris has handles cases involving divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, paternity, domestic abuse, complex division of marital and non-marital property, property valuation, business valuations, spousal maintenance, and other miscellaneous matters arising in the family law context.

Chris' litigation practice has him handling disputes with and among businesses, government entities and individuals in the areas of real estate, contracts, municipal laws and other corporate matters. Chris makes frequent court and arbitration appearances, and has successfully handled motions, arbitrations, mediations and trials.

Chris has also represented clients injured in auto accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, dramshop claims and product liability claims and has defended clients charged with misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors and felonies.

Chris is qualified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a mediator/arbitrator/neutral in civil cases and has been involved in numerous mediation, both as an advocate for a client and as a mediator.
