Sosa-Morris, Beatriz

Attorney Beatriz Sosa-Morris has first-hand experience representing clients hurt on the job. Before joining Kennedy Hodges, she worked at a law firm that focused on Texas Workers' Compensation claims. She represented numerous clients at benefit review conferences and benefit contested case hearings.

Beatriz Sosa-Morris was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in Angleton, Texas. She attended Angleton High School, and graduated in the top 10% of her class. She received the Smith-Hudson Scholarship for Sam Houston State University where she was a member of the International Hispanic Association and Alpha Kappa Psi.

Beatriz watched her parents' American dream come to fruition when they started up their small business called Angleton Tire Shop and she knew that she wanted to realize her American dream and enter a profession in which she could assist others through difficult times in their lives, which is how she finds fulfillment.

Beatriz is a native English and Spanish speaker and she studied abroad in Puebla, Mexico, at the Universidad Iberoamericana. While abroad, she studied international finance and international business administration and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, International Honor Society and Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society for Economics. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in International Business and in Economics and graduated Magna cum Laude from Sam Houston State University.

After graduation, Beatriz attended South Texas College of Law. At South Texas, Beatriz Sosa-Morris graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 10% of her class and she was also:

• member of the South Texas Law Review,
• member of the Hispanic Law Students Association,
• member of the Corporate Counsel Review,
• a Langdell Scholar, and
• a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society.

Beatriz also clerked at the 14th Court of Appeals. She is licensed in the State of Texas and in the Eastern District of Texas.

Attorneys step in at a point where individuals feel their rights have been disenfranchised, where they have been seriously injured, where they have been cheated by an employer. Attorneys bring justice to these individuals. The choice was clear as to what profession Beatriz wanted to pursue. She is proud to belong to a community of professionals who fight to rectify the wrongs their clients have faced.

Beatriz has settled numerous wage and hour cases favorable to her clients. She has fought for their unpaid wages, overtime pay and has won them back the money they deserved.

Beatriz also volunteers during Christmas to gather toys for children through a program called Adopt an Angel.
