Kyle Somers practices in the field of education law.
Kyle's primary area of focus is the representation of school districts with regard to special education matters. He has represented clients in cases concerning the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act ("IDEA") at both the administrative due process and federal court levels. Some of the other education-related areas in which Kyle has provided advice are: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), FERPA, Title IX, transportation, gifted education, first amendment, search and seizure, personnel matters, contract negotiations, insurance and technology. Kyle also regularly assists his school district clients with investigations conducted by both state and federal departments of education.
After graduating from North Penn High School, Kyle earned a B.A. in History Education from the University of Delaware where he received the College of Arts and Sciences' Outstanding Student Teacher Award as well as the William B. Keene Memorial Scholarship for a student with exceptional promise as a future educator. Besides being a lawyer, Kyle is also a Pennsylvania-certified social studies teacher.
Kyle is a graduate of Syracuse University where he earned an M.S. in the field of Public Communications from the renown S.I. Newhouse School as well as a J.D., magna cum laude, from the College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Syracuse Law Review.
