Daniel P. Jakala attended Florida State University from 1975 through 1978. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology. Mr. Jakala then attended Northern Illinois University Law School and graduated with a J.D. in Law in 1982. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1982. Mr. Jakala worked as an attorney editor with the legal publishing companies of Callahan/Thomson West from 1983 to 2001. His primary responsibilities were researching, writing, and editing legal publications. From 2002 to the present time Mr. Jakala has worked as an independent contractor and consultant mostly on police and firefighter disability pension cases. As a consultant, he not only analyzes cases but also provides legal research and writing briefs along with other legal memorandums relative to police and firefighter disability pension cases.
