Lawrence J. Hutchens was admitted to practice law in 1985. He is the founder of Hutchens & Hutchens and has personally handled hundreds of cases involving actions under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the Federal equivalent, the Magnuson-Moss Consumer Warranty Act (most commonly known as the lemon law).
Lawrence has tried more lemon law cases than any other lawyer in California and has earned a reputation as one of the leading lemon law attorneys in the state. He has been asked to testify in front of the California legislature by leading consumer groups regarding amendments to the consumer warranty laws currently in place. His work of advocacy for the consumer has been successful in helping to strengthen buyers’ rights under the law. In addition, Lawrence is listed as a referral attorney for the Center for Auto Safety in Washington D.C.
He has appeared as a featured attorney on various television news programs and continues to be a legal resource for consumer news. Since he himself purchased a defective car while still a student in law school, he brings with him a passion to prevent injustice at the hands of car manufacturers and dealers.
