Gayle A. Sims concentrates her practice in the areas of general litigation, with a special emphasis on family law, including divorce, divorce mediation and personal injury. She also engages in the general practice of law which includes commercial and residential real estate transactions, and wills. She serves as a Special Master for family law cases in the New Haven Superior Court. Attorney Sims is also trained as an attorney for minor children as a Guardian Ad Litem.
She has served as the auction chairperson for the picnic-in-the park event raising funds for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and the Visiting Nurses Association. She is a friend of the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Attorney Sims was instrumental in planning the 1995 Special Olympics held in New Haven. She is an active member on the North Haven PTA, a member of the New Haven County Bar Association as well as the family and real estate law sections of the Connecticut Bar Association. She is also a member of the North Haven Education Foundation.
Attorney Sims received her undergraduate degree from Fairfield University, attended American University and obtained her law degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Law. She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1988. She has received a Certificate of Completion for Mediation from the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution.
