Steven A. Sicheneder is an attorney in the firm. Steven earned a Juris Doctor degree, Cum Laude from Hamline University School of Law. Steven earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, in 1970 with a major in political science. Steven graduated from Waconia High School in 1966. Following graduation from college, Steven served in the United States Army. After completion of training, Steven served thirteen months with the 287th Military Police in West Berlin, Germany. After his honorable discharge from the United States Army, Steven was employed by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department as a courtroom bailiff. Steven attended law school during his employment with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department.
For the past twenty (20) years, Steven has limited his practice primarily to the area of family law. His family law practice includes dissolution of marriage, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, property division and paternity. Steven has handled many complex property division cases involving business valuations, computations of income and non-marital property tracing. In an effort to better represent his clients in mediation, Steven received training and qualified as a mediator under Rule 114.
Steven was named as a Minnesota Super Lawyer in 2002 and 2003 by Law & Politics Magazine. Steven is a strong believer in providing pro bono legal services. Steven has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Minneapolis Legal Aid Society and on the Board of Advisors for the East Central Legal Services. Steven continues to provide pro bono legal representation through Central Minnesota Legal Services Volunteer Attorney Program. Steven has been awarded Certificates of Commendation in 1997 and 2001, recognizing him as the outstanding pro bono attorney in the Tenth Judicial District.
Steven has lived in Wyoming, Minnesota with his spouse, Jill, for thirty (30) years. Steven has been active in the community as a volunteer in many areas. For many years Steven served as a volunteer attorney coach for the Forest Lake High School Mock Trial Team. Steven has been active as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Steven has held many positions including Cub Scout den leader, assistant scoutmaster, troop committee chair, district committee and district chair. Steven remains active in the Boy Scout program as a merit badge counselor and through fund raising.
Prior to joining Johnson & Turner, P.A. Steven was an Assistant County Attorney in Chisago County and was with private law firms in North Branch and Forest Lake. Most recently, Steven was a sole practitioner in Forest Lake.
