Danielle's practice covers a wide range of matters, with a focus on commercial disputes and litigation. She has significant experience in class action securities fraud litigation and in copyright litigation, products liability litigation, and other general contract and business disputes. Danielle has represented parties in all stages of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, and trial. She also has assisted clients with expedited discovery and motions for preliminary injunctions.
Danielle also has experience with false advertising disputes arising under the Lanham Act. Most recently, she prosecuted two actions in federal court related to false advertising claims and advertising claims substantiation.
Danielle is also well versed in the regulatory workings of the Consumer Product Safety Commission and knowledgeable about the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. She has advised clients on the ramifications of the act on their businesses and compliance issues.
Danielle's pro bono practice focuses mainly on appellate representation of individuals on a number of issues. She has appeared before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of an individual challenging the interpretation and constitutionality of a portion of the Prison Litigation Reform Act. Danielle also has won a grant of asylum for a woman fleeing persecution from individuals in her native Guinea.
Danielle is a member of the honorary advisory board of the Women and Politics Institute at American University. The institute, founded in 2000, is a bipartisan organization created to provide academic training to young women and encourage them to become involved in the political process.
