Jeff is Of Counsel in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our St. Paul office and has served as president and treasurer of the firm. He is a member of the Business Litigation Section. Jeff practices principally in the areas of:

• Commercial litigation
• Products liability
• Trade regulation

Jeff has appeared as lead trial counsel and supervised business-related lawsuits throughout the United States. He has tried cases in the Minnesota, Wisconsin and Florida state courts, and federal actions in the District of Minnesota, the Northern District of Illinois, the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Southern District of New York. He also represents German-based manufacturers and insurers in product liability actions venued across the United States, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii.

Jeff's trade regulation experience began when he was an antitrust attorney with the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Competition from 1974 to 1977. Since that time, Jeff has represented clients in the antitrust, franchising and trade practices areas during his career with Briggs. He has appeared as lead trial counsel for clients in cases pending in the states of Minnesota, South Dakota, Missouri, Arkansas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York and the Federal Trade Commission.

Jeff is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the U.S. District Court of Minnesota, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and as pro hac vice counsel among the jurisdictions listed above. He is a member of the Ramsey County and Minnesota State Bar associations, as well as the American Bar Association. He is a board member of the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jeff received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. Jeff joined Briggs in 1977.
