Mr. Shannon is involved in all areas of the firm's patent litigation practice. He focuses primarily on patent infringement suits arising under the Hatch-Waxman Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and participates in all stages of litigation, from pre-suit assessment of patents, to drafting and filing pleadings and motions for summary judgment, to preparing witnesses and experts for trial. Mr. Shannon also has represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract and tort disputes.

Mr. Shannon has experience in preparing patent applications, patentability reports, and freedom to operate opinions, including opinions of non-infringement and invalidity, in the fields of pharmaceutical compositions, aerosol propellants, consumer products, and renewable power generation.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Rakoczy Molino Mazzochi Siwik LLP, Mr. Shannon was an associate with Schiff Hardin LLP. He also previously served as Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Martin C. Ashman, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Shannon served as a Chemist for a drug formulation company, where he analyzed the purity and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.
