Philadelphia personal injury attorney Joshua Schwartz focuses his practice on representing plaintiffs in complex wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury matters including medical malpractice and products liability. He is a member of the Mass Tort and Complex Litigation (MTCL) group at our firm and has played a central role in the discovery and pre-trial phase of the many Duragesic/Fentanyl Patch wrongful death cases undertaken by the firm in behalf of plaintiff's and their families.

Education: In 2008, Josh received his law degree from Widener University School of Law. While attending law school, Josh served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Matthews of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. Josh received Widener Law’s 2008 Outstanding Student Service Award and received the 2008 President’s Service Award. Josh served as the President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, the Vice President of the Jewish Law Students Association and served on the Philadelphia Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, Executive Committee as Widener University School of Law’s Liaison to the YLD. Josh received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Rhetorical Theory from The Pennsylvania State University in 2005. While at Penn State Josh completed a semester abroad at The Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. While in Prague, Josh taught English classes at Czech High Schools. Also, while at Penn State, Josh served in the Pennsylvania Literacy Corps, tutoring English to those studying for their TOEFL exam.

Community Involvement: Josh is very active in his community. He is co-founder of The Spruce Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2007. The Spruce Foundation’s vision is to raise social awareness among Philadelphia’s young professionals and provide opportunities to increase their involvement in the Philadelphia community by encouraging their personal investment in Philadelphia’s youth. Josh completed the Leadership Development Program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
