Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and raised in various parts of the United States and Europe, Ms. Hellstern received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism, magna cum laude, from Wichita State University in 1980, where she was elected to Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Hellstern received her juris doctorate degree with high honors from Washburn University School of Law, Topeka, Kansas, in 1984, where she was a member of the Washburn Law Journal. Ms. Hellstern serves as a member of the board of advisors for the Trial Advocacy Center for the Washburn School of Law. She is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and a number of federal district courts, including the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, and the Eastern District of Texas. Ms. Hellstern is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Dallas Bar Association.
