Jay is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association, based in our Minneapolis office. He is a member of the Trade Regulation Section. Jay practices principally in the areas of:
Jay concentrates his practice in the areas of franchise, dealer distribution and antitrust law, as well as banking law and securities litigation. In addition, Jay has had substantial experience working with the Minnesota Sales Representative Act. He has also worked extensively in cases involving the enforcement and interpretation of non-compete agreements and related employment matters.
Jay is a member of the Hennepin County, Minnesota State and American Bar associations. He also serves on the board for the Eastview Athletic Association. He was named a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law & Politics.
Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jay received his B.S. from Mankato State University. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the Notre Dame Law Review. Jay is also a former chairperson of the Briggs Recruiting Committee. Jay joined Briggs in 1989.
