Our dear friend and senior partner, Gene N. Schiffman, passed away in July, 2008. Gene started his practice in 1963 when he joined his father's law firm. Over the years, Gene's reputation as a brilliant attorney grew, as did his circle of clients and professional colleagues.
Gene was truly a renaissance man when it came to the law. He had no specialty. He was equally adept at handling complex transactions, or major litigations. Gene handled substantial matters involving business disputes and commercial, matrimonial, medical malpractice and personal injury litigations.
Gene served on the Bergen County Ethics Committee of which he was the Chairman and as the Municipal Court Judge in Wallington, New Jersey.
Gene's practice was highlighted by his thorough preparation, his soft spoken demeanor and his unfailing courtesy to judges, adversaries and litigants.
Gene Schiffman was a mentor and friend to all of us. His professionalism and practical approach to difficult problems continues to serve as an inspiration to the firm's partners, associates and staff members.
