Dr. Heather Schafroth is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department. She joined the firm in 2010.
Past Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Schafroth served as a law clerk to the Honorable Timothy B. Dyk of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and to the Honorable Judith W. Rogers of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Dr. Schafroth received her JD degree from Harvard Law School. During law school she worked as a summer associate at the firm, as a summer associate at a boutique intellectual property firm, and as a summer law intern in the Networks and Technology Enforcement Section of the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice.
Prior to law school, Dr. Schafroth was a National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award individual postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Cornell University. She also held a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship at Princeton University. Her research focused on developing computational methods to design and predict the folding and binding of peptides and proteins for vaccine and autoimmune disease applications.
Dr. Schafroth is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New York, and the District of Columbia, and before the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Professional Activities
Dr. Schafroth is a member of the American Chemical Society, and she is a Senior Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
