Amir Sarreshtehdary attended the University of California at Irvine, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology, Law & Society. He graduated cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society. Mr. Sarreshtehdary went on to obtain his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Mr. Sarreshtehdary embarked on his legal career with Wilson & Rush LLP in San Francisco, and was exposed to Trusts and Estates law. He grew interested in focusing in that practice area, and stayed current with cases and developments through a combination of seminars and extensive research.
In 2007, Mr. Sarreshtehdary joined Brayton Purcell LLP as an associate to serve their clients’ needs in Estate Planning. Helping clients secure their future by creating individualized estate plans provides him with a sense of satisfaction. This is particularly evident through the complimentary workshops he conducts to educate clients and others in the area of trusts and estates. As a student at Hastings College of the Law, Mr. Sarreshtehdary participated in the Civil Justice Clinic and represented the rights of low–income tenants. He has served as President of Brightline Defense Project—a nonprofit civil rights legal aid organization. Involved in community social causes, Mr. Sarreshtehdary provided guidance to those incarcerated in the San Francisco and Marin County Jails and counseled dual–diagnosed adolescents.
Licensed to practice law in California, Mr. Sarreshtehdary is a member of the Marin County Bar’s Probate and Estate Planning Section and serves as its Co–Chair. He is a member of the State Bar of California’s Trusts and Estates Section as well. In addition, he received his LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation Law from Golden Gate University, graduating with Honors. He has served as a consultant to the CEB’s (Continuing Education of the Bar) reference guide: California Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives.
In his spare time, he enjoys discovering new places to eat, and listening to Pearl Jam. He currently lives in Walnut Creek with his wife and their baby girl.
