Ray is a trial attorney and a founding partner of the firm.   He has successfully tried and resolved cases in state and federal courts against many of the most respected trial lawyers, including in California, New York, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas.  In addition to winning some very difficult trials, Ray is perhaps best known for having demonstrated the unreliability of scientific evidence previously accepted in courts throughout the country.

To meet the challenges of presenting complex and scientific evidence to jurors with limited time, Ray has conducted extensive research in jurisdictions across the country to determine how best to present such evidence and deconstruct opposing evidence.  Ray speaks frequently at public and private conferences on trial tactics, challenging the reliability of expert testimony, and jury research.

Ray represents businesses in all kinds of disputes, including claims arising from or involving unfair competition, employment discrimination, non-compete agreements, contract disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, and product liability, among others.   Ray serves as national trial counsel for several companies involved in product liability litigation and as Special Asbestos Defense Counsel for a former asbestos product manufacturer in bankruptcy. 

In addition to representing businesses, Ray is often asked to represent individuals in their private affairs, whether related to their investments, divorce and custody matters, or personal injuries.  He has served as lead class counsel in securities litigation and has helped other investors recover their losses in arbitration proceedings against brokers for fraud and for recommending unsuitable investments.   Ray has not only represented defendants in personal injury litigation, but he has tried and successfully resolved major medical malpractice and product liability cases for those who have suffered catastrophic injuries and for their families.

Ray is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating in legal ability and ethics, and has been included in the list of lawyers named as Super Lawyers.  He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Mathematics) in 1985 and received his Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University in 1988.
