Mr. Sares has been practicing law since 1989, when hired out of law school to join the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen, in
Denver, Colorado
. Initially, practicing in the fields of oil and gas, corporations, real estate and litigation, Mr. Sares later joined the in-house tort litigation firm of State Farm Insurance, known as George D. Browning & Associates in 1991. At that time he focused his practice on State and
Federal District Court
tort litigation, premises liability litigation, insurance coverage issues, workers compensation litigation and appellate work, gaining an impressive record of success in the defense of clients whose cases went to trial. In 2002, Mr. Sares went back into private practice with the firm of Cross, Sands & Sares, P.C. continuing his defense of numerous clients covered by auto, home and business lines insurance and his defense of insurers on coverage claims, while expanding the scope of his litigation practice to include defense against insurance bad faith claims, defense of municipalities and law enforcement personnel on tort and civil rights matters, and general litigation for individual clients including the defense of an equestrian business owner-trainer.
Mr. Sares joined the firm in 2005, bringing the assets of an experience civil litigator to serve our existing and growing field of clients. Since joining the firm, Mr. Sares has continued his representation of clients defending themselves in civil litigation both with and without insurance coverage, successfully representing clients in defense of tort, premises liability, wrongful death, commercial liability and construction defect litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Sares has also put his strong academic credentials to work with courtroom skills to successfully draft and argue motions and appellate briefs before the trial and appellate courts of
