Mr. Samson is a partner in the Litigation Department. He focuses his practice on medical malpractice, products liability actions, defending Universities in a variety of litigation, and education law matters including employment litigation. Mr. Samson is a member of the Firm's Education Law Group.
Mr. Samson has taught trial practice and litigation skills extensively for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Pennsylvania Defense Institute, and Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, of which he is a past President, and served as an Adjunct Professor for Temple University Law School.
Mr. Samson received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 and his J.D., cum laude, from New England School of Law in 1976, where he was the Managing Editor of the Law Review. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Mr. Samson is also admitted to appear before United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Philadelphia Bar Association, Pennsylvania Defense Institute, Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. He is the Chair of a Hearing Committee for the Disciplinary Board of Pennsylvania. In 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, he was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine. Mr. Samson has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
