Jay is Of Counsel to the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our St. Paul office and is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section. Jay practices principally in the areas of:

• Estate planning
• Estate and trust administration
• Small business planning

Jay has practiced law for more than 35 years, concentrating in the areas of individual and closely held business, estate planning, wills, probate and trust law.

Jay is a member of the American Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association and Ramsey County Bar Association. He is a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has been cited in The Best Lawyers in America for many years. He is also vice president of the Snow-Isle Library Foundation and an honorary lifetime trustee of the Iowa Law School Foundation. Jay has served as president of the Ramsey County Bar Association, chair of the Minnesota State Bar Probate and Trust Law Section, and chair of Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services Campaign for Legal Aid.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Jay received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa. He joined Briggs in 2000.
