Kelly R. Routh was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 2011. She focuses practice on all aspects of North Carolina family law litigation and negotiation, including equitable distribution, child custody and support, post-separation support and alimony, premarital agreements and separation agreements.
Ms. Routh received her undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she double majored in Political Science and Psychology. While at Chapel Hill, Ms. Routh was inducted into both Sigma Alpha Lambda and Pi Sigma Alpha for her academic achievements. Ms. Routh received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Elon University School of Law.
While in law school, Ms. Routh received the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Award for outstanding scholastic achievement in family law. Ms. Routh also served as the founder and President of the Family Law Society. She also worked as an extern for Mecklenburg County District Court Judge Paige B. McThenia and Guilford County District Court Judge Teresa Vincent. In addition, Ms. Routh gained practical experience as an extern with The Children’s Law Center of Central North Carolina.
Ms. Routh is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Family Law Section and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. Ms. Routh is also a member of Junior League of Charlotte.
A native of Thomasville, North Carolina, Ms. Routh currently resides in Charlotte.
