Mr. Greenlee joined Burg Simpson in May 2005 as Special Counsel. He was previously a partner in a well regarded Denver firm where he was engaged in a complex civil defense practice representing international, national and local corporations, insurance companies, businesses and individuals in every aspect of litigation in matters of employment, insurance, personal injury, products liability, environmental, toxic tort, contracts and other commercial disputes, and intellectual property. He was heavily involved in the expansive litigation arising from the Columbine school shootings.
Mr. Greenlee’s passion for writing led him to join Burg Simpson’s research, writing and appellate group, where his expansive research skills and his persuasive and judicious writing have further broadened the firm’s depth and resources. Mr. Greenlee provides compelling legal analysis and powerful writing to the Burg Simpson trial teams and is instrumental in providing successful representation to the firm’s clients.
Mr. Greenlee was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming for both his undergraduate and law degrees. He is admitted to practice in both Wyoming and Colorado and continues to represent clients in both states and in the federal courts.
When not writing summary judgment motions or analyzing complex cases, Mr. Greenlee spends his time writing fiction. He won Second Prize in Seak, Inc.’s 2004 National Legal Fiction Writing Contest For Lawyers and is currently working on what he hopes will be the next “Great American Novel.”
Mr. Greenlee was recently named to the Board of Governors for the Up With People International Alumni Association, the 19,000 member organization of the international performing and community service group, Up With People.
