Jonathan L. Gould recently opened The Law Office of Jonathan L. Gould in Washington DC as a solo practitioner. Before that, Jon was Of Counsel to Kestell & Associates in Washington DC. Jon practiced labor and employment law at what was then known as Gould, Livingston, Adler & Pulda in Hartford, CT from 1981 to 1996. In 1996, he opened a solo practice in Hartford specializing in employment law. He practiced there until he moved to Washington in January 2005.
Jon has served as lead and co-counsel in several trials and appeals of labor and employment cases in state and federal court, administrative agencies and arbitration panels. His experience includes case under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act, Age Discrimination In Employment Act, ADA/Rehabilitation Act, FMLA, ERISA, 42 U.S.C. $1983 litigation, wrongful discharge, duty of fair representation, Taft Hartley and Landrum Griffin Act cases, workers' and unemployment compensation. He is also an American Arbitration Association arbitrator on the Commercial and Employment Law Panels.
While in Connecticut, Jon was active in the Connecticut Bar Association where he served as Vice Chair, Executive Committee, Labor and Employment Section and Co-chair, Employment Discrimination Subcommittee. He was also on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Employment Lawyers Association and headed its Amicus Committee. He is currently President of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association and is a longtime member of its national organization, the National Employment Lawyers Association.
Jon's publications include: Wrongful Discharge Section, Employee and Union Member Guide to Labor Law, 1998;"Worker's Compensation Section 31-290a Claims," Connecticut Workers' Compensation Quarterly, Fall 1993;"A Reply to Wiggins and Reicher," 65 Conn.
