Brian S. Goncalves is an associate in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP.
Mr. Goncalves practices in all areas of intellectual property law including patent, copyright, and trademark, with a focus on patent prosecution, litigation, client counseling and opinion work relating to patent validity, enforceability, and infringement, and due diligence in connection with acquisitions and investments. He has extensive academic and professional experience in the technical areas of computer hardware and software, electronics, and telecommunications.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Goncalves held lead positions as a software engineer and systems analyst for over five years specializing in enterprise application development, database systems, e-commerce, and banking and financial systems. During law school, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Carl J. Schuman of the Connecticut Superior Court Complex Litigation Docket and as an intern to Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. Following law school, he earned an LL.M. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, focusing his advanced legal studies on intellectual property law.
