David B. Rheingold specializes in an active trial practice primarily involving drug product and medical device liability cases. Since joining our firm in 1993, he has concentrated on the mass tort cases, most recently Yaz/Yasmin/Beyaz, NuvaRing, Fosamax, Actonel, Boniva, Heparin, Levaquin, Reglan, Kugel Mesh His direct involvement in management of specific litigations includes courts in New York, New Jersey, and federal courts throughout the United States. He recently used his medical expertise in preparing the firm's "Extraordinary Injury" claims for three of our recent medical device litigations: Medtronic Defibrillator, Guidant Defibrillator and Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Lead litigations. The Rheingold firm had leadership positions in these litigations which settled for $118 million, $195 million and $268 million respectively. As an active member in the American Association for Justice, he has access to litigation resources and materials throughout the United States. This local and national experience makes him a valuable lecturer to other trial attorneys on handling mass tort cases, and he provides annual lectures to New York State trial attorneys at the "Decisions" seminars. On both a local and national level, he has obtained substantial client settlements through arbitration, mediation and direct negotiations with some of the largest national and international drug and medical device makers.
