Joe returned to Des Moines after graduating from the University of New Mexico and has lifelong roots here, having graduated from Dowling High School. His base of experience as a Union (Mail handlers and Laborer's International) and EEO representative during his time at the Postal Service provided an early introduction to zealous advocacy.
After working as Union representative for the Postal Service for 14 years, Joe attended Drake University Law School where he earned his J.D. with honors in 1991. He was admitted to practice in the state of Iowa and the U.S. Southern District of Iowa the following year. Joe is an experienced trial attorney in both criminal and personal injury litigation. For 18 years, Joe has been defending clients against criminal accusations and advocating on behalf of those who have been injured or who have lost a loved one in a case of wrongful death.
Joe is a member of the Iowa State and Polk County Bar Associations as well as the Society of Italian Americans.
Joe lives in Des Moines with his wife Diane and their three grown children. He also has four grandchildren.
