Mike Ginsberg is a trial lawyer who concentrates his practice on the representation of policyholders in disputes with insurance companies regarding coverage for product and environmental liabilities, toxic torts, and bad faith. He advises clients on the insurance aspects of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcies. Mike's practice also involves the trial of environmental claims arising under Superfund and similar state statutes and other business lawsuits. In addition, he assists clients with the evaluation and management of asbestos liabilities.
Mike has served as insurance counsel for Cooper Industries in the Dresser and Federal Mogul bankruptcies, and has served as insurance counsel in a variety of other bankruptcy matters, including USG and Chrysler. Mike recently resolved insurance coverage issues for Elliott Company and has represented Beazer, Cameron International, Joy Global, Lincoln Electric, McGraw-Edison, Penn Fuel Gas, Tyco, and Weir Group, among others.
Mike chairs the Firm's Lawyer Training Committee and serves as treasurer of the board of trustees of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) for whom he frequently serves as a teacher and team leader, including serving as a team leader at NITA's flagship National Trial Program. In July 2009, Mike traveled to Nairobi, Kenya to teach trial skills to Kenyan lawyers and police inspectors who prosecute gender violence crimes in a program sponsored by Lawyers Without Borders, NITA, and Jones Day. Mike has taught and been a team leader in Emory Law School's Trial Techniques Program. He also serves on the board of trustees of the Pittsburgh Public Theater.
