Kate Dittrick has devoted her entire practice to labor and employment issues, with an emphasis in wage and hour matters. Ms. Dittrick's practice focuses on preventing employment claims by providing advice and counsel to employers on how to avoid lawsuits and administrative charges. Ms. Dittrick provides a variety of training for managers and supervisors on best practices and legal implications of their actions.

Employment claims are often avoided by having well-written and legally compliant policies, handbooks, employment agreements, offer letters, termination letters, and correspondence regarding leaves of absence. Ms. Dittrick drafts such documents and also reviews and revises existing documents.

Ms. Dittrick assists employers in responding to audits from the Department of Labor regarding worker classification, compensation, and leave entitlements. Ms. Dittrick also assists employers in responding to charges of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation from the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

A portion of Ms. Dittrick's practice is also devoted to defending employers in civil actions and addressing noncompete issues between employers and employees. Ms. Dittrick has also helped employers address employee petitions to unionize.
