Kimberlee Ray has dedicated her career to the management of trademark and copyright portfolios to clients across a wide array of industries, including automotive, medical device, electronics, apparel, food/beverage, entertainment/new media, consumer products, and nonprofit and municipal/governmental. Her work has involved all areas of intellectual property: trademark, trade secret, domain name, copyright, and publicity/personality rights. She advocates a holistic approach that incorporates business concerns to develop strategies for protecting rights globally while building strong brands.

Recognized as having a thoughtful, consultative approach, Kim relies on talents honed while obtaining a California Mediator Certificate from the California State University, Dominquez Hills Mediator Program to succeed in consensus building and achieve optimal outcomes. Kim guides organizations through review and analysis of their intellectual property portfolios and trademark/copyright licensing programs with the goal of optimizing and monetizing these assets in brand appropriate and growth-oriented ways.

Kim began her legal career as the summa cum laude graduate of the paralegal program at the University of North Texas. She then spent a decade with both a major multinational firm and a specialized boutique firm before moving in-house with a global automotive manufacturer. At that point she entered the Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a 75% merit-based scholarship, in simultaneous pursuit of a J.D. and a Bachelor's Degree from Excelsior. She transferred to Ventura College of Law to complete her Juris Doctor degree and simultaneously graduated cum laude from Excelsior College. After receiving her Juris Doctor, with honors, and with a certificate of concentration in business law, Kim did additional post-graduate study in grant writing and successfully completed a challenging certification examination to achieve membership in the American Grant Writers Association.
