Ms. Rauen has been engaged in the practice of labor and employment law since 1990. Prior to joining Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd. in 2001, Ms. Rauen was a partner at a Chicago law firm where her practice included representing employers in a wide variety of labor and employment matters. She has practiced before various federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators in cases involving traditional labor disputes, employment discrimination, employee benefits and other employment related matters. Ms. Rauen has performed legal audits of human resources policies for clients and has made presentations on various employment law topics including sexual harassment, diversity in the workplace, practical pointers on hiring and firing, eavesdropping and tape recording in the workplace and alternative dispute resolution. She also was an Instructor of Labor and Employment Law in the paralegal program at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
