Raudt, Kevin Alan

Becky was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She settled in Sonoma County after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. Becky completed Empire Law School in 1996 and was admitted to the California Bar in 1997.

Becky has practiced Family Law exclusively since June 1997. She is a Certified Family Law Specialist* and a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She served as President of Sonoma County Women in Law in 1999, as Chair of the Family Law Section-Sonoma County Bar in 2002, and as Chair of the Family Law local rules committee from 2007-2009. Becky is also a professor at Empire College School of Law. She is the 2009 recipient of the 'Excellence in Education' award.

In addition to serving on various boards and committees, Becky also serves as a Fee Arbitrator for the Sonoma County Bar, a volunteer at Sonoma County Legal Aid, and a volunteer for the Sonoma County family law court.

Family law is complicated and misunderstood by most participants. Unfortunately, the people who need family law help the most usually cannot afford it. The end result is that they try to handle their case themselves. These individuals are called "self represented" litigants or "pro pers". Even if a self-represented litigant reads the most current book about handling his or her own divorce, the content of that book is most likely out of date. Family law changes daily and there is just no book available to replace a family law lawyer.

In May 2005, Becky established the Family Law Center with the intent to provide legal services to those who were not able to afford full service representation. The Family Law Center, though originally designed to accommodate those individuals who need legal assistance on a limited basis, has since expanded to include clients who require full service.

When Becky is not practicing law, you will probably find her on the softball field with her daughter or participating in some other "kid friendly" activity. Family is what matters most. It IS possible to dissolve your marriage or relationship and still raise happy, healthy children in the process.
