Michael S. Raign is board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Raign has been practicing criminal law for more than 23 years, including eight years as a prosecutor in Bexar County, Texas. He is licensed to practice law in all courts of the State of Texas, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Mr. Raign's litigation experience includes jury trials and appeals in hundreds of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases as diverse as murder, sexual assault, robbery, burglary, DWI, drug possession and assault.

Mr. Raign’s accomplishments as a criminal defense attorney have earned him recognition by his peers as one of the "Best Criminal Defense Lawyers" in Scene in SA magazine for three of the last four years (2007, 2008, and 2010). Mr. Raign is also a past president of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and remains active on the Board of Directors for SACDLA.

In addition to his criminal defense practice, Mr. Raign served four years as a Mental Health Master for the Bexar County Probate Courts.

Mr. Raign obtained his law degree from St. Mary's University in 1986. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a BBA in accounting (1982) and a BA in government (1983).

Mr. Raign is also active in the community, having served as secretary for the Alamo City Youth Soccer Organization. He presently serves as secretary for the St. Luke Catholic Men's Club.
