EXPERIENCE
1. He is a partner in the Greensboro law firm of Ivey, McClellan, Gatton & Talcott, having received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting in June of 1969 from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina; and a Juris Doctor degree in May of 1973, from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston- Salem, North Carolina.
2. Upon graduation from Wake Forest University School of Law, he was employed as a staff attorney by Pilot Life Insurance Company of Greensboro, North Carolina where he remained employed until September of 1988. He was involved in all aspects of corporate law as it affected Pilot Life Insurance Company and later Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company and served in the officer capacity of Second Vice President and Secretary of Pilot Life Insurance Company.
3. He was admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina on July 30, 1987 and was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on February 15, 1990. Since entering private practice with Ivey, McClellan, Gatton & Talcott, he has been involved in the practice of bankruptcy and commercial law and has represented debtors and creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases under the United States Bankruptcy Code.
4. He has attended numerous national and state continuing legal education seminars including seminars relating to bankruptcy, commercial law, litigation.
