Jonathan R. DeTrinis is a native of New Orleans who practices law in the areas of personal injury; consumer and commercial bankruptcy; successions; wills and trusts; extra-contractual liability; and general civil litigation. After attending Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Jon received his B.S. degree in Economics, with a concentration in Empirical Economic Analysis, from the Louisiana State University E.J. Ourso College of Business, where he was also a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Thereafter, he returned to his hometown, New Orleans, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Loyola College of Law.
Since being admitted to practice law, Jon has gained extensive experience practicing in both Louisiana's Federal and State Court systems. Prior to joining Grand Law Firm, Jon practiced law in the defense areas of property casualty; automobile casualty; insurance coverage issues; insurance bad-faith; extra-contractual liability; medical malpractice; and premises, merchant, and products liability. Additionally, he represented personal injury victims; criminal defendants, including post-conviction relief; businesses and individuals involved in garnishment proceedings; and provided consultation services for individuals who have been involved in general civil litigation matters. Jon is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State and Federal Courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and is a member of the Federal Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys his family, friends, and all of the activities that a typical New Orleanian enjoys. He is a season ticket holder for the New Orleans Saints, a cabinet member for the Krewe of Notos; and a loyal member of the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Club. In addition to focusing his life on his profession, Jon also finds time to give back to the New Orleans community, by volunteering for such organizations as the Youth Leadership Council, Hogs for the Cause, Animal Rescue New Orleans, and Carrolton Boosters playground.
