Prieto, Ricardo J.

Jennifer L. Davis was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004 and the United States District Court in 2008. She is a native Floridian born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Central Florida and her Juris Doctor from Barry Law School.

Ms. Davis began her legal career in 1989 as a legal clerk with the law firm of Eubanks, Hilyard, Rumbley, Meier and Lengauer. While obtaining her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida she worked as a paralegal with Steven C. Blinn, P.A., a personal injury law firm, gaining experience in automobile negligence cases and personal injury protection insurance law. During her senior year of law school she interned with Steven J Kirschner, P.A.; a personal injury law firm which specialized in brain injury cases. Upon being admitted to the Florida bar, she then became a prosecutor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit for Orange and Osceola Counties.

As a prosecutor, Ms. Davis successfully prosecuted and had numerous jury trials dealing with misdemeanor and traffic offenses; such as driving while under the influence, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault, battery, and prostitution. She was also assigned to the domestic violence unit and successfully prosecuted numerous domestic violence cases.

During her last two years as a prosecutor, she was assigned to the felony division in Osceola county where she practiced primarily before the Honorable Jon B. Morgan. Ms. Davis successfully prosecuted and had jury trials on felony cases such as; possession of cocaine, drug trafficking, possession of methamphetamines, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, as well as numerous other felony offenses.

Ms. Davis also worked as an associate attorney with the law firm of Thorne & Storey, P.A.. She had the pleasure of assisting numerous workers in providing them with legal assistance in gaining much needed medical and wage benefits from employers. She also litigated numerous cases in which Petitions for Benefits were filed on the employees behalf.

Ms. Davis also has extensive experience in handling evictions. She has assisted numerous landlords in successfully evicting tenants who have breached their lease agreements or failed to pay rent.

During her legal career, Ms. Davis has developed extensive jury trial and courtroom skills which allowed her to form the law firm of Davis and McAlhaney, P.A. with former prosecutor Emily McAlhaney. As a managing partner of Davis and McAlhaney, P.A., she is dedicated to utilizing these skills and putting them to work for the Central Florida community. She handles all types of family law cases, such as, divorces, paternity disputes, child support, child custody. She also handles civil cases dealing with contract disputes, workers compensation matters and tenant evictions.
