Priest-Johnson, Kimberly

Born June 25,1957 in Montgomery, Alabama. Worked as a legal secretary for 20 years. Earned my Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1997. I then earned my Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in May of 2002. I married Peter Prashad in May of 1995 and we have an adorable 18 month old granddaughter.

I clerked for the law firm of Watson, DeGraffenried. Hardin & Tyra LLC during my last two years of law school. Upon passing the bar exam in 2002, that firm hired me as an associate. I had the privilege of working under the tutolege of the late Ryan DeGraffenried. Jr. (former Alabama Senator and President Pro Tempore of the Senate) and all of the other fine lawyers in that firm.

My husband lived in Montgomery while I attended law school and worked at the firm in Tuscaloosa. In 2004 my husband and I decided the weekend visits were just not enough I moved back permanently to Montgomery and started my own practice, which I maintain today.

I currently volunteer every Friday at the One Center for Family Justice where I assist domestic violence victims with free legal advice and sometimes probono representation. In 2006 I was presented with the President's Special Service Award for Making A Difference in Families affected by Domestic Violence from The Family Sunshine Center in Montgomery, Alabama.
