Powell, Raymond M.

Mr. Dannenberg is Counsel to the Firm. He recently celebrated fifty years of active practice, having been admitted to the bar of the State of New York in 1955. He is one of the original founding principals of the Firm and initiated its securities class action practice in the 1960's as a Lead Counsel in the landmark Texas Gulf Sulphur litigation. He subsequently successfully established in the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and before the Supreme Court, the standing of purchasers of options to bring an action for fraud under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. He was the first Lead Counsel appointed through an auction process In re Oracle Securities Litigation, 136 F.R.D. 639 (N.D. Cal. 1991).

Today he is involved in alternative dispute resolution. He has served as an active mediator and arbitrator for ten years in the Federal Court in the Southern District of New York, with the American Arbitration Association, the NASD, and the New York Stock Exchange. He is also an adjunct professor at Pace University Law School, associated with the securities arbitration division of the John Jay Legal Services Clinic.

Mr. Dannenberg was given an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating a lawyer can obtain, indicating a very high to preeminent legal ability and exceptional ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the Bar.

Mr. Dannenberg is a graduate of Duke University (A.B. magna cum laude 1952) where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and Yale University (LL.B 1955).
