After her graduation from Vassar College, Elyssa worked as a social worker and began taking courses toward an MSW degree. During that time, she was asked to testify in a case involving a custody dispute and it was there that she met her future husband Nicholas, who was a practicing attorney. He encouraged her to attend law school. She graduated cum laude in 1987 with awards in the fields of "Property" "New York Practice" and "Remedies." After five years of practicing both defense and plaintiffs personal injury law, Elyssa joined Finkelstein & Partners as an in-house attorney. She has been with the Firm for the past 18 years and has worked on many multi-million dollar cases.
