Porras, M. Elizabeth

Ms. Poppe earned a B.S. degree from the College of Charleston in 1986. Later she received her Juris Doctorate degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. Ms. Poppe was also a law journal editor, and she continues to write legal commentary in the areas of corporate and business law.

Ms. Poppe has merged her twenty two (22) years as a senior business leader with Citicorp, General Electric, and Bank of America, with her practice of law. Ms. Poppe also previously worked as a summer intern in the business and corporate practice groups at large and mid-sized law firms.

Ms. Poppe’s practice is dedicated to various civil matters involving legal agreements, business and personal torts, corporate formations, business contracts, wills and trusts, and family law including divorce, prenuptial agreements, and separation agreements. Ms. Poppe is also a litigator.

Ms. Poppe approaches complex legal matters strategically and with a “cooler heads prevail” approach.

Ms. Poppe is a member of a number of organizations including the New York City Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Montclair Writers Group, and the New York Road Runners Club.

Ms. Poppe is admitted to practice law in the following jurisdictions: New York, New Jersey, U.S. Federal District Court Southern District of New York, U.S. Federal District Court Eastern District of New York, and the U.S. Federal District Court of New Jersey.
