John Cyrus has been practicing law for more than 31 years in West Virginia. John graduated with honors from Marshall University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. After serving as a Captain in the United States Army (1973-1976), he received his Juris Doctorate degree from West Virginia University College of Law in 1981, where he graduated 4th out of his 126 member class. John is a successful and experienced trial attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury/wrongful death, nursing home abuse, medical practice, insurance law, criminal defense, and general litigation. Additionally, John has been called upon by both plaintiff and defense counsel to mediate and/or arbitrate hundreds of civil cases throughout the State. He has also served as special commissioner in several cases upon appointment by various circuit judges. During his more than 31 years of practice, John has successfully argued numerous cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States District Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
